ChatGPT: AI is spreading rapidly around the world. Many people are using it and many people are not. If you use ChatGPT or any other AI chatbot, you should know that AI is not always accurate. AI can also show wrong information. Sometimes AI can also tell fiction as fact, which is completely wrong. AI did something similar with the students. Because of this the professor even failed the entire class.
Professor failed the whole class
According to a Reddit thread, a University of Texas professor failed his entire class after an AI tool lied to them that the essays the students submitted were written by a computer.
The professor was using the ChatGPT tool to check for plagiarism. These essays were written by the students for their final exams. ChatGPT expressed a high probability that the essays were typed by computer. Just what then? The professor felt that the children had not written the essay on their own, so they simply failed the entire class.
ChatGPT gave wrong information
The professor failed the entire class, but it was later revealed that ChatGPT was wrong. The essay was not written by the computer. They were written by the students themselves. The professor then apologized to the students and gave them a second chance to take the exam. This case tells us that AI tools are not always perfect and can sometimes make mistakes. It is important to use AI tools with care and be aware of their limitations. It is also important to note that ChatGPT is still under development.
