Till the time of writing the news, the web site of the Reserve Bank was down. The website was down when the news came out that now 2000 notes will be out of circulation. This means that now there will be no circulation of Rs 2000 note. As soon as the news came out, heavy traffic reached the RBI website and due to this the entire website came to a standstill. You do not need to panic at all as you have plenty of time to exchange the note. You can comfortably exchange your 2000 rupee note from the bank till 30 September 2023. Along with this, you can also deposit your 2000 note in the bank. If someone around you is getting hyper after hearing this news, then you should also understand them that you have a lot of time. You can easily change notes.

If you are going to go to the bank to exchange notes, then let us tell you that RBI has said that you can only change 2000 notes of Rs 20,000 at a time. Apart from this, RBI has ordered banks to stop giving new Rs 2000 notes to customers with immediate effect.

2000 notes were issued in 2016

2000 notes were issued in India on 8 November 2016 after demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupee notes. The government had also issued a new note of 500, but the note of 1000 was not issued.
