Earthquake: An earthquake of magnitude 3.2 hit Shirui in the northeastern state of Manipur at 7.31 pm on Saturday (May 20). According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter of the earthquake was 3 km northwest of Shirui at a depth of 31 km. Earthquake tremors were felt in the state on 16th of April last month as well.
At that time the intensity of the earthquake was measured at 3.6 on the Richter scale. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) had said that tremors were felt in Bishnupur district of southern Manipur and adjoining areas in the morning. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km from the surface. However, there was no news of any casualty or damage to property during this period.
