Center Ordinance Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s efforts to unite non-BJP parties against the central government’s ordinance are continuing. On Tuesday (May 30), Kejriwal met CPM leader Sitaram Yechury and sought his support in Rajya Sabha to stop it.
After the meeting, CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury also announced to support the people of Delhi against the Centre’s ordinance. Thanking Sitaram Yechury, Kejriwal said that the Modi government is running its dictatorship in Delhi and taking away the rights of the people of Delhi by bringing an ordinance. BJP does not have majority in Rajya Sabha. If the entire opposition comes together, then this ordinance can be dropped in the Rajya Sabha.
At the same time, Sitaram Yechury appealed to the opposition parties and said that all should oppose this ordinance of the Center and save it from the Modi government which is attacking the Constitution. During this, AAP’s Rajya Sabha members Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha and cabinet minister Atishi were also present.
‘All our powers were taken away’
Kejriwal said, “After 8 years of fighting for the rights of the people of Delhi, on May 11, the Supreme Court had ordered that India is a democracy and here the government elected by the people has full rights to work for the people. There should be more powers. The Modi government had taken away all our powers by issuing a notification in 2015. Whereas earlier these powers were with former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Whose support did Kejriwal get?
Kejriwal further said, “I met Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in this regard and she supported us. Similarly, in Maharashtra Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao met and all supported us.” At the same time, today I have come to meet CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury and his party to seek support in Rajya Sabha. I thank Sitaram Yechury for supporting CPI(M).”
CM Kejriwal’s appeal to Congress
Regarding the support of the Congress on the ordinance, CM Kejriwal said, “Information is being received from the media that the Congress will not support Kejriwal, but here Kejriwal is not important. This issue has been insulted to the country’s democracy, the constitution and the people of Delhi.” Connected. I want to tell the Congress that you leave Kejriwal, don’t support me, but the Modi government has insulted the people of Delhi and taken away their power. That’s why you stand with the people of Delhi.
