‘This is not the time to do politics’, Ashwini Vaishnav said on the demand for resignation after the Balasore accident


Coromandel Express Derail: After the accident of three trains in Balasore, Odisha, the opposition parties are demanding the resignation of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Responding to this whole matter on Saturday (June 03), the Railway Minister has said that this is not the time to do politics but it is the time to focus on the restoration work.

He said that after this tragic accident, all efforts should be directed towards the restoration work. In fact, after the death of 288 people and injuries to more than 900 people in the Odisha train accident, many opposition parties are continuously demanding his resignation. In such a situation, this comment of the Railway Minister came.

Demand for resignation of railway minister

Earlier, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said, “When the Railway Minister repeatedly says that our system is safe and no serious accident can happen, how did it happen? Lal Bahadur Shastri had resigned from his post in the first train accident. We don’t expect this from PM Modi’s cabinet, but if she (Ashwini Vaishnav) has even an iota of shame, she should resign.”

At the same time, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “There is a need to raise many questions regarding this accident, but his party will raise these questions on Sunday.” He said, “The train accident in Odisha is indeed very painful. It is a matter of great sorrow. Those who need to be raised, but will not be raised today but tomorrow.”

Apart from this, Trinamool Congress has also demanded the resignation of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said, “Instead of installing anti-collision devices in trains to prevent such accidents, the Center is spending crores of rupees on software to spy on opposition leaders. Poor people bear the brunt of the apathy of the central government.” are suffering.”

The horrific accident happened on Friday evening

In one of the most gruesome accidents in rail history, 288 people have lost their lives so far in the Odisha train accident. Three trains – Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and a goods train were involved in the accident. The incident took place when the passenger train Coromandel Shalimar Express derailed and collided with the goods train and some of its coaches also collided with the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast.

More than 900 have been injured in the accident. The possibility of increasing the death toll cannot be ruled out. This horrific accident took place in Odisha’s Balasore district on Friday (June 2) around 7 pm when many passengers were sleeping.
