14 kg heroin recovered in Amritsar and Fazilka, know how and where the drugs came from

Punjab News: Security forces personnel deployed along the Indo-Pak border seized more than 14 kg of heroin in two separate operations in Punjab’s Amritsar and Fazilka districts. Its price is crores of rupees in the international market. In a first, security forces recovered more than five kilograms of heroin from the Indo-Pak international border near Amritsar. Here, through Pakistani drones, smugglers had dropped drugs here.

A spokesperson of the Border Security Force said that a joint team of BSF and Punjab Police has succeeded in busting drugs by running an operation. According to the spokesperson, at around 2.50 am, the joint team heard the buzzing of an unmanned aerial vehicle and the sound of the consignment being dropped on the outskirts of Rai village in Amritsar. During the search, five packets of heroin were recovered from a field. An iron ring was also attached to this packet. The weight of the recovered heroin is approximately 5.50 kg.

9 kg heroin from Fazilka to Badamad

In another incident, the Punjab Police arrested two drug peddlers in Fazilka district. More than nine kilograms of heroin has been recovered from the possession of smugglers. The Jalalabad police station has registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and is investigating the matter. Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said in a tweet that FazilkaPolice has arrested 2 drug peddlers. 9.397 kg of heroin has been recovered from the smugglers. FIR was registered by PS Sadar Jalalabad under NDPS Act. Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said that in both the cases, the police is deeply involved in the investigation. It is also being investigated that who all are connected with Pakistani smugglers in the case of drug smuggling through drones.
