Abhishek Banerjee’s wife Rujira stopped from going to Dubai, ED summoned in coal scam

Bengal Coal Scam: Rujira Banerjee, wife of Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, was once again stopped at the Kolkata airport. According to ED sources, a lookout notice has been issued against Rujira, due to which Rujira was stopped before boarding at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. The CBI has already questioned Rujira Banerjee regarding the coal smuggling scheme worth crores of rupees.

It is being told that Abhishek Banerjee’s wife Rujira Banerjee’s wife had a flight to Dubai on Monday (June 5), for which Rujira had reached Netaji Subhash Chandra International Airport in Dumdum at around 6.30 am, but before boarding she Immigration team stopped. Rujira Banerjee was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and called for questioning two days later. Apart from this, TMC has claimed that this is personal harassment.

Lookout notice issued against Rujira

According to ED sources, a lookout notice has been issued against Rujira, so Rujira cannot go abroad. Because it is the responsibility of immigration to stop those against whom a lookout notice is issued at the airport, due to which Rujira has been stopped at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. In the year 2020, the CBI has already questioned Rujira Banerjee in connection with the investigation of the coal smuggling scheme worth crores of rupees.

In fact, on November 27, 2020, the CBI had registered a case against several officers and employees of Eastern Coalfield Limited (ECL). In which the name of Abhishek Banerjee’s wife Rujira Narula Banerjee also came to the fore and a notice was also sent to his sister-in-law Maneka Gambhir.
