Purnia: A case of gross negligence by the doctors of a private hospital in Purnia has come to the fore. The pregnant woman died in this. This matter is of Monday (June 5) night. The family members of the deceased alleged that the doctor of Samarpan Maternity and Child Disease Hospital was getting the maternity operation done with the help of video conferencing by a hired nurse as she was away. The result was that the pregnant woman died on the operation table itself. After the death of the female patient, havoc broke out on the family members. The enraged relatives created a lot of ruckus.

The relatives created a ruckus by jamming the road

The relatives created a ruckus by blocking the road near the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Malti Devi, 22-year-old wife of Abhinandan Goswami, resident of Chapai village of Gangeli Panchayat of Kenagar police station area.

Seeing the uproar here, the doctors and staff of the hospital ran away. Regarding the incident, the deceased’s brother Vinay Kumar and cousin father-in-law Shashidhar Kumar Giri told that after labor pains arose, they were brought to Dr. Seema Kumari’s hospital in Line Bazar for delivery from their home in Chapai village of Gangeli Panchayat late on Sunday evening. Female pimp Poonam Devi who was calling herself an ASHA worker.

It was there that she was brought to this hospital. The date of delivery was fixed after a week from today, but due to labor pain, the pregnant woman was taken to the delivery room on Monday at around 3 pm.

At around 10 o’clock in the night, when the relatives asked the staff coming out of the delivery room, they were told that the vein was cut during the operation. After this some family members went inside and the woman was found lying dead.

Accusations against hospital operator Dr. Seema Kumari

Although both the newborns of the deceased were safe. Shashidhar further told that when he found out, he came to know that the hospital operator Dr. Seema Kumari, who was sitting in Patna, got the maternity operation done through video conferencing by calling a hired nurse and compounder. The gross negligence of the hospital management and the stupidity of the nurse led to the death of the woman. On the other hand, as soon as the information about the incident was received, the police of the assistant cashier police station reached the spot and talked to the family members and tried to pacify the matter.

Chanting supremo Pappu Yadav, who reached the occasion, said that hospitals are opening like mushrooms every day and people are losing their lives. He has demanded the Purnia administration to arrest the negligent doctors and personnel at the earliest. At the same time, action is being taken by the administration to seal the hospital which has been grossly negligent.
