AAP MP Raghav Chadha reached court after cancellation of allotment of government bungalow, got immediate relief

Delhi Politics: Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha reached Patiala House Court against the decision to cancel the allotment of his government bungalow. From where he got immediate relief. Raghav Chadha has challenged the decision to cancel the allotment of the government bungalow in the Patiala House Court. Raghav Chadha attacked the BJP for canceling the allotment of the bungalow and called the decision taken under the malice of the government.

The Patiala House Court has stayed the notice by issuing a notice to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat. The court stayed the notification to vacate Bengal number AB5 allotted to Raghav Chadha on Pandara Road till the next hearing of the case. The court said that the House Committee of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat should not take any action on its order till the next hearing.

Next hearing of the case will be on June 10.

Raghav Chadha filed a reply arguing that he was validly allotted the bungalow as per the Rajya Sabha Speaker’s procedure, had moved into the Type 7 bungalow after renovation and the allotment letter itself contained the circumstances. Raghav Chadha has argued that the letter canceling the allotment is “arbitrary”.

The next hearing of the case will be held on June 10 in the Patiala House Court. Actually Raghav Chadha was the first to be allotted a Type VII bungalow, Type-VII bungalow is usually given to former Union Minister, Governor or Chief Minister. By canceling which Chadda was allotted a Type VI bungalow, after which the allotment of Type VI bungalow was cancelled. Raghav Chadha argues that he is entitled to the category of allotted accommodation.

Petition filed against cancellation of Type 7 Bungalow allotment

Raghav Chadda argued in the petition that the accommodation allotted to him was canceled arbitrarily. The authority canceled the house allotment without giving any reason and justification. AAP MP Raghav Chadha has filed a petition in the Patiala House Court against the letter canceling his Type 7 bungalow allotment as an MP.

The petition argues that he could not have been evicted without due process, the letter canceling the allotment is illegal. On 19 April, the Patiala House Court passed an order directing that Raghav Chadha “shall not be evicted without due process of law”. The Rajya Sabha Secretariat has filed an application opposing Raghav Chadha’s case, arguing that the court could not have passed the April 19 order without hearing the Secretariat.
