‘I am a victim of the Congress party’, Brij Bhushan Singh said – ‘I will speak at the right time’

Delhi News: For the past months, the matter has been in the headlines regarding the allegations leveled by Indian wrestlers against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, former President of the Wrestling Federation of India. Once again Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has given such a statement which is now in headlines. On the questions of the media, Brij Bhushan Singh said that ‘I have become a victim of the Congress party’.

When BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who reached Delhi, was asked by the media whether you think you have become a victim of a well-planned conspiracy, then after thinking for a few moments on this issue, he replied that- ‘I belong to the Congress party. I have become a victim of conspiracy. Right now I will not say much on these allegations against me, I will speak in detail when the right time comes. During this, he got down from his convoy smiling and went towards his residence.

Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and other Indian wrestlers, who have brought laurels to India on the world stage, staged a sit-in protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for weeks over allegations of sexual abuse by Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. During this protest, a case was registered against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at the Connaught Place police station in New Delhi. This case became very high profile. After which a SIT team has been constituted by the Delhi Police to investigate the matter. According to the information received, a charge sheet will be filed on this matter very soon.

The Delhi Police team has visited Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand as well as other states to collect evidence for investigation in this case and statements of dozens of people have also been recorded on this matter. Apart from this, the Delhi Police is facing many challenges in collecting these evidences, because these allegations are also related to many years old cases. On this basis, collecting documents on the basis of old photos, video footage and allegations is a big challenge. Apart from this, due to the high profile of this matter, the pressure on the Delhi Police from the country’s opposition party as well as from the world’s biggest wrestling organizations is very high.

Apart from this, there is another big challenge in the investigation process related to this case that a victim has complained about sexual harassment related cases abroad, according to which the scope of investigation in this case is from different wrestling tournaments held in Indonesia, Bulgaria, Mongolia, Kazakhstan. The relevant information is also being scrutinized and the statements of the officers related to it are also being recorded. Now it has to be seen how long the truth on this matter comes before the country and the world.
