After Priyanka Chopra, Taapsee Pannu Opens Up On Camps In Bollywood: ‘I Always Knew…’

New Delhi: Taapsee Pannu, who recently completed 10 years in the Hindi film industry, will next be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ with Shah Rukh Khan. From Chashme Baddoor in 2013 to Dunki in 2023, Taapsee has come a long way, choosing content-centric films that did justice to her acting skills. She recently opened up about the existence of ‘camps’ in Bollywood and how she prepared herself for the “unfair games.”

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Taapsee said, “Bollywood camps isn’t something that people don’t know about. It’s been there since forever. It can be basis an actor’s friend circle, a certain agency or group that they’re a part of and people’s loyalties differ based on that.”

She also said that despite this she doesn’t hold grudges against anyone, neither does she blame it for being biased. “Everyone should have the right to choose whoever they want to work with, or have in their films. I can’t blame them for thinking about their own careers,” she told Hindustan Times.

She said that being an outsider, she was always aware of the biases she would face and the fight she would have to endure to stay.

“I never came with a point of view that it’s going to be all fair in the film industry. I always knew it’s going to be biased. So why crib about it now? she questions, and adds, “For me, the rule of the game is that it’s going to be unfair.” The tide is going to be against you most of the time. And if after all that, you still decide to be a part of this industry, then it’s your choice and you can’t complain about it later,” she was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Taapsee has worked with Anurag Kashyap, Srijit Mukerji, Anubhav Sinha, and others in films like Manmarziyaan, Thappad, Pink etc.
