Wagner chief claims – unit has been sent towards Moscow, security tight in many areas of Russia

Russian Wagner Group: Russian authorities have increased security in many regions of Russia on Saturday (June 24). The main reason behind this is that Yevgeny Prigozhin, chief of the private group Wagner, said that his army has crossed the Ukraine border, after which security measures have been tightened in many regions of Russia.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, chief of the Wagner Group, has vowed to overthrow the Russian military leadership and said he will go to the end to overthrow the military leadership, which he accused of launching attacks on his own people, while the country’s The Prosecutor General said that he was under investigation for armed insurrection.

People advised to stay in homes
Igor Artamonov, the governor of Lipetsk, south of Moscow, said a decision had been taken to strengthen security measures in the area, asking everyone to remain calm for the time being. The region of Lipetsk is approximately 400 kilometers (250 mi) south of Moscow. Along with this, the authorities in the southern region of Rostov have also asked people to stay at homes.

Giving information on social media, Rostov Governor Vasily Golubev said that law enforcement agencies are making all possible efforts to ensure the safety of the people. He appealed to the local people to stay at home and also asked people to remain calm.

Russian authorities tightened security measures
Earlier on Saturday (June 24), the state news agency TASS had told in a report that the Russian authorities have taken strict security measures. In this regard, the local media has telecast footage, in which armored vehicles have been shown deployed not only in the Russian Defense Ministry but in the entire capital. Yevgeny Prigozhin had previously said that his unit leading the assault in eastern Ukraine had entered the area south of Rostov.
