American company Micron will set up semiconductor plant in India, mobile-laptops will become cheaper

Micron Technology Semiconductor Unit in India : Mobile laptops can now be found at cheap prices in India. India can become a semiconductor chip hub in the coming times, the effect of which will be seen in the price of all those devices like mobile laptops in which this chip is used. We are saying this because in the midst of PM Narendra Modi’s US visit, there has been a big agreement between India and the American company Micron, after which now Micron will set up a semiconductor plant in India. in India).

Let us tell you that America’s semiconductor maker company Micron Technology will set up a semiconductor plant in Sanand, Gujarat. This will be the country’s first semiconductor plant. After the stabilization of this plant, India will become completely self-sufficient for semiconductor chips and at the same time dependence on countries like China-Taiwan will end.

The company will invest billions of dollars

Micron will invest about $ 2.7 billion for a semiconductor plant in India. For this, investment approval has been given by the Cabinet to Micron for the Semiconductor Testing and Packaging Unit. PM Modi had also met Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra during his US tour and he invited the company to come to India.

The company told that it will invest 82.5 crores to set up the plant in India. The remaining amount will be given by the central and state governments. The CEO of the company said that I am grateful to the Government of India and the state for the steps India has taken for the semiconductor.

It is believed that Micron will start construction of the plant in Gujarat by the end of this year. The plant will be set up in two phases. According to Micron Technology, more than 5000 employment opportunities will be created by setting up a semiconductor plant in India. While about 15 thousand people will continue to get jobs for many years.

What is Semiconductor Chip

Let us tell you that semiconductor is such a chip on which most of the electronic gadgets work. All devices like computer, laptop, smart car, washing machine, ATM, smart TV, smartphone have a semiconductor chip. Without this these devices cannot work. Semiconductor chips are made from silicon. These chips are very good conductors of electricity. It is very important for work like high-end computing, data processing, storage, wireless connectivity, input-output management, artificial intelligence and quantum technology from the semiconductor chip itself.
