Dubai Women Kabaddi Final: Dubai hosted the world’s first international women’s kabaddi final, which featured Punjab Panthers vs Uma Kolkata. The match ended with the Uma Kolkata team becoming the champions, winning the grand prize of ₹1 crore. In the competition, the Punjab team displayed commendable skill and won the second position, receiving a prize of 50 lakhs.
The tournament lasted for 12 days and eight teams from India, representing different states, participated in it. Eminent personalities including President and CEO of Al Matia Group Juma Al Madani, Mayor of Indore Pushyamitra Bhargava, Director of Women’s Kabaddi League Pradeep Kumar Nehra and President of GBF Middle East Dr. Sunil Manjrekar and prominent Indian diaspora like Chandrashekhar Bhatia were present. This program was successfully organized by the Women’s Kabaddi League. Which played an important role in making the tournament a success.
Eight teams from across India gathered in Dubai
This historic event provided a global platform to the women Kabaddi players of India to showcase their skills and talent. Eight teams represented different Indian states, including Delhi Dynamites, Gujarat Angels, Great Marathas, Haryana Hustlers, Punjab Panthers, Rajasthan Riders, Uma Kolkata and Bengaluru Hawks.
The tournament saw remarkable participation, with eight teams from across India converging on Dubai. GBF Middle East President Chandrashekhar Bhatia says that the event not only showcased the extraordinary abilities of Indian Kabaddi players, but also promoted cultural exchange and strengthened ties between India and UAE.
Organized from 16 to 27 June
With the aim of taking the indigenous game to the international level, the Women’s Kabaddi League was organized in Dubai from June 16 to 27. Eight teams from all over the country were present in this league, in which Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Bengal, Punjab, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Delhi participated. Earlier, the trophy and anthem song of the Women’s Kabaddi League was launched in Indore.
