Maharashtra News: CM Eknath Shinde After joining the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has finally revealed his political ambitions. Ajit Pawar said these things in a meeting called by his group in suburban Bandra. Ajit Pawar said that in the 2004 assembly elections, NCP had more MLAs than Congress, if we had not given the chief minister’s post to Congress at that time, till date only the Nationalist Congress Party would have been the chief minister in Maharashtra. Ajit Pawar faction leader Chhagan Bhujbal claimed that he has the support of more than 40 MLAs.
Taunted Sharad Pawar as a god
On the one hand, Ajit Pawar called his uncle Sharad Pawar a deity, and on the other, he also taunted him. Referring to BJP, he said that there leaders retire in 75 years. Ajit quipped on his uncle’s age and political activism.
Ajit Pawar said, “You showed me as a villain in front of everyone. I still have respect for him (Sharad Pawar)… You tell me, IAS officers retire at the age of 60… In politics too, BJP leaders retire at the age of 75. You can see the example of LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi… This gives a chance to the new generation to move forward… You (Sharad Pawar) give us our Bless you… But you are 83, are you not going to stop?.. Give us your blessings and we will pray that you live long.”
