You must have often seen people coming out of the sunroof of a moving car and making videos. It looks fun to watch but doing this can be very dangerous. Because if you are caught doing such stunts, you may have to go to jail. Yes, we are saying the truth. Along with this, you can be sentenced to at least 1 year.

These cases have come to light recently

In fact, a similar case has come to light recently. During the rain in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, a young man and woman were seen doing activities with their heads out of the sunroof, after which this video is going viral on social media.

Earlier also a case came to light in which an ex-user posted a video and did stunts in the middle of the road and was dancing outside the sunroof. In this incident in Noida Sector 18, the car owner was fined Rs 26,000. First this video of stunts went viral on social media, after which the police took action and took this step.

Now let’s talk about what the law says about this. If you are driving a car and your attention gets diverted by coming out of the sunroof and it causes an accident, then it will be considered your negligence here, due to negligence accidents happen on the road every day and there are strict provisions regarding this in the Motor Vehicle Act, which also includes section-184. Let’s know about it.

What does the law say?

According to section 184 of MV Act, if you are found driving at a speed higher than the limited speed and this endangers or troubles the lives of other vehicles and pedestrians on the road, then you will be fined Rs 5,000. If there is a threat to the life of others, then you can also be sentenced to 1 year imprisonment for this. Although the word sunroof has not been used, but if you are seen doing some stunts by sticking your neck out of the sunroof, then it comes under negligence.
