After this, Mohammad Yunus was called from Paris and the power of Bangladesh was given to him. Even after this, the uproar in Bangladesh is not decreasing. Now a new uproar has started in Bangladesh on 15 August. Now when India will be celebrating independence on 15 August, there will be uproar in Bangladesh regarding the holiday. Because the new government of Bangladesh has canceled the holiday on 15 August. This is being considered a big setback for Sheikh Hasina.
National mourning day is observed on 15 August in Bangladesh because Sheikh Hasina’s father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated on this day. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the first president of independent Bangladesh and the father of the nation, was killed along with his family at his home in Dhanmondi, capital Dhaka, on 15 August 1975. This massacre was carried out by an army unit.
Hasina appealed to observe a day of mourning
A new controversy has started after the new government of Bangladesh cancelled the 15th August holiday. The new government of Bangladesh and Sheikh Hasina have come face to face on this issue. Sheikh Hasina has opposed this decision and asked the common Bangladeshis to observe a day of mourning. Sheikh Hasina said, ‘I appeal to you to observe the day of mourning on 15th August with full reverence and dignity. Go to Bangabandhu Bhavan and pay tribute, so that all souls may rest in peace.’ This post has been made on behalf of Sheikh Hasina by her son Sajeeb Wajed on his ex handle.
Attacks on Mujibur Rahman
The Chief Advisor’s Office said that the decision to cancel the 15th August holiday was taken in the Advisory Council meeting. At present, it was not so easy for the new government to take this decision. During this, there was a lot of argument. According to sources, many parties in the meeting were against the cancellation of the holiday, while some people wanted the holiday to be canceled. In such a situation, it is believed that now there is bound to be a ruckus in Bangladesh on 15th August. At the same time, some people also say that if there is a big protest on 15th August, then it means that Sheikh Hasina still has some ground left in Bangladesh. However, it has been seen that ever since Sheikh Hasina’s hold has weakened, there have been fierce attacks on things related to her father.
