IT Sector: Recently, the big IT company Cognizant, which was criticized for giving 20 years old salary package to freshers, has now done another feat. Cognizant has given only 1 percent salary increment to some of its employees this year. The company had already disappointed its staff by postponing the salary hike for 4 months. Now their hopes have been shattered by getting such an increment.

Cognizant distributed increments between 1 to 5 percent

Economic Times has reported citing sources that Cognizant has given 1 to 3 percent increment to employees with 3 rating, 4 percent to those with 4 rating and only 4.5 to 5 percent increment to those with 5 rating. In this way, the company has disappointed all the employees this year by giving increment between 1 to 5 percent. Last year, this IT company listed on Nasdaq had distributed increment between 7 to 11 percent.

The company has around 2.54 lakh employees in India

Cognizant’s headquarters is located in New Jersey. However, 70 percent of its workforce works in India. The company has about 2.54 lakh employees in India. The total number of employees of the company is decreasing rapidly. By the end of the June quarter, 8100 employees have been reduced from Cognizant. Now their number has come down to 3,36,300. In the same period last year, 9300 people had left the company.

Offering jobs to freshers on a package of Rs 2.52 lakh

A recent report claimed that Cognizant is offering jobs to freshers on a package of Rs 2.52 lakh per annum. After this information came to light, there was a lot of anger against the company on social media. People said that instead of doing such a job, people should earn money by making reels and putting up a roadside cart. Angry people said that with this much money, people can only eat tea and Maggi after paying the house rent.
