Students run without clothes

Newly admitted students of Massachusetts’ Williams College run naked from the hostel to the President’s House before the college starts. It is believed that doing so brings new energy to the students. This practice was started in 1940.

After every semester, students run around in college without clothes

The same thing happens in Wesleyan University, where every six months after the semester ends, people run naked across the campus. This tradition started in 1970, the reason behind starting this practice was to reduce the stress of children.

There is a kissing rock in Wellesley College, Massachusetts, which the college girls kiss. It is said that by doing this, they get engaged within a year. This practice has been going on in this college for the last 100 years and every day the college girls are seen kissing this kissing rock.

The tradition here is that whenever a new pair is made, they hang the shoes here and this tradition has been going on for the last 60 years. It is believed that a boy was going to his home from the hostel after finishing college. Due to excess luggage, he did not want to take the shoes with him, so he hung his shoes on a tree built in the campus, after which this tradition started. This is the third tree of this university to hang shoes. The first tree was struck by lightning. The branches of the second tree started falling, after which those trees were removed in 2015. Since then this third tree has taken over.

Every year new students take admission in Barnard College which is located in New York and to build a good relationship with them, the old students form a 750 feet long chain, that too a chain of sandwiches. This practice is called Barnard Big Sub.

This is achieved by rubbing the turtle’s head

Miami University in Ohio, USA also has a similar tradition where students rub the head of a copper turtle near the Tri-Delt Sundial statue. It is said that doing so helps students get good grades in their papers.
