Haniya’s death has to be avenged! Israel has to be attacked, but why is Khamenei confused?

Iran-Israel War: It has been more than two weeks since the death of Hamas’ Ismail Haniyya. Iran has blamed Israel for the murder. Iran had said that it will take revenge for Ismail Haniyya from Israel, but all its threats seem to be going in cold storage.

Ali Fadavi, deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, gave an interview on a Lebanese TV channel, in which he said that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has clearly said that Hania’s death has to be avenged. Fadavi also said that Israel has violated the UN Charter, for which it will have to pay the price. Amidst all this, the Iranian government seems confused about what kind of action will be taken. Because whatever action is taken, relations with Israel as well as America will deteriorate.

Disagreement between Pezeshkian and the Revolutionary Guard

Recently, a report in the British Telegraph said that there is disagreement between President Masoud Pezeshkian and the officers of the Revolutionary Guard regarding action against Israel. On one hand, the President of Iran is asking to avoid a direct attack on Israel. He says that Israel’s bases in its neighboring countries should be targeted, while the officers of the Revolutionary Guard say exactly the opposite. The report also said that in this entire confusion, the decision has to be taken ultimately by the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

An attack on Israel could have dire consequences

Not only Iran’s President and Revolutionary Officers but also the Supreme Leader are in a dilemma regarding this attack. On one hand, Iran is seeing Hania’s death as an insult and people are demanding revenge. On the other hand, the Supreme Leader also knows that if he attacks Israel, the consequences can be very bad.
