Udaipur Internet Shutdown: To maintain law and order situation in Udaipur, the ban on internet service has been extended. After the recommendation of the collector, it was decided to keep the internet service closed from 10 pm tonight. There was a danger of breach of peace due to anti-social elements spreading rumors on social media. Therefore, the administration decided to extend the ban on internet service for the next 24 hours.
From 10 pm tonight till tomorrow, people will not get internet facility in Udaipur city, Bedla, Badgaon, Balicha, Debari, Eklingpura, Kanpur, Dhikali and Bhuwana for 24 hours. Let us tell you that communal violence broke out after the stabbing incident on Friday. Rioters burnt cars. Shopping malls were vandalized. People of Hindu organizations came out on the streets and closed the shops. Police dispersed the crowd gathered outside the government hospital.
Will internet service not be available in Udaipur even on Rakshabandhan?
In view of the arson and violence, the administration had to impose Section 144. The incident of stabbing between two students has shaken the city. Internet service will remain closed till 10 pm today, Sunday. Yesterday, on Saturday, the divisional commissioner had issued orders to ban internet service for 24 hours. Now the internet ban has been extended for another 24 hours. This means that internet service will not be available till 10 pm on Rakshabandhan day i.e. Monday. However, lease line will be exempted from internet shutdown. In the letter issued by the divisional commissioner, public cooperation has been sought. It has been said in the letter that action will be taken as per rules in case of violation of the order. He appealed to the people to maintain communal harmony.
