India-Japan Deal: A big defense deal is going to happen between India and Japan, through which India will buy antennas for its navy from Japan. This deal can be announced in the meeting of the ministers of both the countries to be held in New Delhi today i.e. Tuesday. Through the Japanese antenna, the Indian Navy will be able to easily detect its enemies in the Indian Ocean. India is very worried about Chinese intrusion in the Indian Ocean, because the Chinese Navy is increasing its interference from South China to the African continent.

According to the Economic Times report, this will be the first ministerial meeting of the foreign and defense ministers of the two countries after the year 2022. The Japanese Navy is already using antennas developed by NEC and other Japanese companies. The Japanese Navy has already installed such antennas on its advanced escort ships. Such antennas are able to easily detect the movements of missiles and drones. The report says that the use of this antenna will enable better coordination between the armies of the two countries during joint defense exercises. With the help of this antenna, it is also easy to exchange messages.

Defense cooperation partnership will increase between the two countries
The issue of increasing defense cooperation has been discussed in the earlier meeting between the two countries. In such a situation, it is believed that concrete measures can be taken to promote defense industry partnership in the upcoming meeting. Experts said that the situation in the East China Sea and South China Sea can also be discussed in the meeting to be held on Tuesday. Along with this, the focus will also be on the Malabar exercise of the Quad members.

What happened in the last meeting?
In the last ministerial meeting, the ministers of both the countries had expressed commitment on their strategic goals of achieving an open Indo-Pacific region. During this, they also reiterated their strong support of the ‘ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific’. Apart from this, Japan has announced to fundamentally strengthen the country’s defense capabilities in the next five years. Along with this, it has also talked about the necessary increase in the defense budget to achieve its objectives.
