Bangladesh Floods : There is a flood situation in some areas of Bangladesh at this time. The interim government of Bangladesh has blamed India for this. The interim government of Bangladesh, led by Mohammad Yunus, has claimed that the flood in their country is due to India, because the gates of the dam built on the Gomti river in Tripura have been opened, due to which a flood-like situation has arisen. However, India has completely rejected this claim of Bangladesh. The Indian Foreign Ministry says that this is a problem for both. Because of this, both sides face problems. A solution needs to be found for this. The ministry said that we have seen that the flood in the districts of the eastern border of Bangladesh has occurred due to the opening of the river dam in Tripura, but this is not factually correct.
Due to this there was more water
He said that the Gomti river flowing through India and Bangladesh has received the heaviest rainfall this year, due to which there is more water. The flood in Bangladesh is mainly due to the water from large catchment areas below the dam. The ministry said that Dumbur Dam is more than 120 km from the (Bangladesh) border. It is a low height (about 30 meters) dam, which generates electricity and the electricity goes to the grid, due to which Bangladesh also gets 40 MW electricity from Tripura.
Continuous rain increased concern
This time, continuous rain has created flood-like conditions. Heavy rains have been continuously falling in entire Tripura and Bangladesh since August 21. The ministry said that water is released due to excess water. Both the countries share rivers at 54 places. We are committed to find a solution to this.
