‘Farmers will become rich’, Modi government’s plan which will bring huge benefits

Cabinet Approves 7 Schemes for Improving Farmers Lives: The central government approved 7 schemes related to farmers on Monday (September 2). Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the cabinet has taken 7 major decisions on Monday to improve the lives of farmers and increase their income.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi In the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, about Rs 14,235.30 crore has been approved for these 7 programs related to the agriculture sector. The government claims that these seven decisions will greatly benefit the farmers and their lives will improve a lot.

1. Under the Digital Agriculture Mission, the focus will be on improving the lives of farmers. For this, emphasis will be laid on the use of maximum technology in farming. Rs 2.817 crore will be spent for this mission. It includes two basic pillars. First Agri Stack and second Agricultural Decision Support System. Agri Stack includes farmer data, village land map data, sown crop data. While Agricultural Decision Support System includes geospatial data, drought/flood monitoring, weather/satellite data, groundwater/water availability data, modeling for crop yield and insurance etc.

2. There will also be a focus on crop science for food and nutrition security. A total of Rs 3,979 crore will be spent for this. This initiative will prepare farmers for climate resilience and provide food security by 2047. Under this, research and education, plant genetic resource management, genetic improvement for food and fodder crops, pulses and oilseed crop improvement, improvement in commercial crops and research on insects and microbes will be done.

3. The government will spend Rs 2,291 crore to strengthen agricultural education, management and social science. Under this, agricultural students and researchers will be prepared for the current challenges. Agricultural research and education will be modernized in this, use of new technology as per the new education policy 2020, digital DPI, AI, big data, remote etc. have been included.

4. The government has made a provision of Rs 1,702 crore to increase the income of farmers from livestock and dairy. Under this, the focus will be on animal health management and veterinary education. Apart from this, emphasis will be laid on dairy production and technology development. Along with this, attention will also be paid to animal genetic resource management, production and improvement.

5. The central government has made a provision of Rs 1129.30 crore for the sustainable development of horticulture. The purpose behind this is to increase the income of farmers from horticulture. These things have been included in it…

• Root, tuber, bulbous and dry crops
• Vegetable, floriculture and mushroom crops
• Plants, Spices, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants

6 Rs 1,202 crore will be spent on strengthening the Agricultural Science Centre.

7. The Central Government has approved Rs 1,115 crore to strengthen natural resource management.
