Chhattisgarh News Today: The Chhattisgarh government has approved a hike in the salaries of senior residents and professors of government medical colleges in the state. Officials gave this information on Friday (September 13).
Officials said that the state government has issued an order to increase the salary of senior resident, assistant professor, associate professor and professor of government medical colleges. This order will be effective for government medical colleges across the state from September 1, 2024.
How much did the salary increase in non-scheduled colleges?
In this regard, officials said that according to the order issued by the Medical Education Department of Chhattisgarh Government, the salary of professors posted in medical colleges in non-scheduled areas has been increased from Rs 1 lakh 55 thousand to Rs 1 lakh 90 thousand.
Similarly, the salary of associate professor has been increased from Rs 1.35 lakh to Rs 1.55 lakh, assistant professor from Rs 90 thousand to Rs 1 lakh and senior resident from Rs 65 thousand to Rs 75 thousand.
How much did the salary increase in scheduled colleges?
Officials said that the salary of professors posted in medical colleges in scheduled areas has been increased from Rs 1.9 lakh to Rs 2.25 lakh. Similarly, the salary of associate professors has been increased from Rs 1.55 lakh to Rs 1.85 lakh.
Apart from this, the salary of Assistant Professor posted in the Medical Colleges of Scheduled Areas has been increased from Rs.90,000 to Rs.1,25,000 and the salary of Senior Resident and Demonstrator (PG) has been increased from Rs.65,000 to Rs.95,000.
He said that as per the revised contract pay scale issued for contract doctors of government medical colleges, the salary hike has been done by about 46 per cent in scheduled areas and about 23 per cent in non-scheduled areas.
What did the Health Minister say?
State Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said on the issue of salary hike that there will be no compromise on the expansion of health facilities in the state. He said that this is the right of future doctors studying in government medical colleges.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that future doctors have the right to get good quality teachers and education. This order of salary hike clearly shows the intention of the state government to work in the field of health.
