He used to steal coins from the temple, flopped in Bollywood, then became a Bhojpuri superstar

The actor we are talking about is none other than Ravi Kishan Shukla. Apart from being a famous actor, Ravi Kishan is also a politician, film maker and TV personality. However, he had to struggle a lot to reach this position.

Let us tell you that Ravi Kishan had once revealed in Rajat Sharma’s show Aap Ki Adalat that he used to steal coins from Hanuman temple. Ravi’s father had a milk dairy and he used to steal money from there too.

During the same interview, Ravi also told that his father used to beat him a lot and one day his father got very angry with him. Ravi’s mother saved him from his father’s anger and gave him 500 rupees and asked him to run away to Mumbai.

Ravi Kishan came to Mumbai with the 500 rupees given by his mother. When Ravi started in Bollywood, he was called the Mithun Chakraborty of the poor. Despite doing many films in Hindi, he failed to make a name for himself in Bollywood. However, his role in Salman Khan’s film Tere Naam was highly appreciated by the people.

Ravi had revealed that he has even worked in films for free and he would just ask the makers for money for petrol for his bike.

Despite many efforts in Bollywood, Ravi Kishan’s career did not work out. After this, he turned towards Bhojpuri cinema. Then Ravi Kishan became a Bhojpuri superstar in no time. All his Bhojpuri films were blockbusters.

This year, Ravi Kishan was also seen in Missing Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao. In this film, he shared the screen with Pratibha Ranta, Nitanshi Goyal, Sparsh Srivastava and Chhaya Kadam. Interestingly, this film of the actor has been selected as India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards or Oscars 2025.
