Canada: The problems of Indian students in Canada are not showing signs of decreasing. Canada’s Border Security Agency has arrested 950 students from British Columbia. Most of the students arrested are of Indian origin. Most of the Indian students are said to be from Punjab.
The arrested students were accused that recently the Trudeau government had set working hours and all these students were found violating the rules i.e. they were working more than the prescribed hours. Along with this, action has also been taken against the institutions which had employed these students. Taking major action, the Border Security Agency has also imposed fine on the institutions.
Now students will face this problem
After the action of the Border Security Agency, the problems of these students have increased considerably. Actually, all these students may now face a lot of difficulty in getting permanent residence. According to media reports, the institutions hiring these students will have to pay a fine of millions of dollars for violating labor laws.
Accused of working more than the prescribed rules
According to the report of True Scoop, all the Indian students were already forced to work in these institutions at less than the legal pay scale. The important thing is that the Government of Canada has fixed the working hours on student visa. It was told that all these students were working more than 40 hours a week in violation of the rules. Institutions were underpaying students for working outside legal hours. Indian students are said to be very angry with the decision of the Trudeau government.
