Shoaib Akhtar Fastest Ball Record: The three-match T20 series to be played between India and Bangladesh will start from today (06 October, Sunday). The first match of the series will be played at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. In this match, the record of former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar can be broken. Indian pacer Mayank Yadav can break Akhtar’s record in his debut match itself.
Mayank was included in Team India for the first time through the T20 series against Bangladesh. Now there is every hope that Mayank will be included in the playing eleven in the first T20 of the series.
Why can Akhtar’s record be broken?
Mayank Yadav, who played for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, caught everyone’s attention with his fast pace in the 2024 season. Only after playing the first match in IPL 2024, there was talk of Mayank being included in Team India. It was also said that he would be included in the 2024 T20 World Cup, but due to injury, Mayank stayed away from cricket for some time. However, now he has completely recovered and is back in Team India.
In the 2024 IPL, Mayank bowled consistently at a speed of 150+. He had also set the record of bowling the fastest speed of 156.7 km per hour in the season. Just looking at this ability of Mayank, it is believed that in the very first T20 against Bangladesh, Mayank can break the record of former Pakistan great Shoaib Akhtar. Akhtar bowled the ball at a speed of 161.3 km per hour in the 2003 ODI World Cup.
