America has given the Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine to Victor Ambrose and Gary Ruvkun this year. Both the scientists were given this honor for their research on microRNA. This award is the 115th Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine given since 1901. Last year in 2023, this award was given to Caitlin Carico and Drew Wiseman.

Talking about Victor Ambrose, he was born in 1953 in Hanover, New Hampshire. From 1979 to 1985 he conducted his postdoctoral research analyzing the lin-4 mutant in his newly established laboratory at Harvard University. From 1992 to 2007, he was also a professor in a medical school. After analyzing the lin-4 mutant, he got permission for gene cloning. After this he set out for another search. He also presented its result in front of everyone.

Gary Ruvkun is a professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School.

If we talk about scientist Gary Ruvkun, he was born in 1952 in Berkeley, California. He received his PhD degree from Howard University in 1982. During this time, he investigated lin-4 gene exchange in his new laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. How does gin work during that time? Instead of knowing this, they told that it is not the production of mRNA from Lin-4 at all. In 1985, he became Principal Investigator at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School and is now Professor of Genetics.
