Bhavish Aggarwal: The troubles of Ola Group and its CEO Bhavish Aggarwal are increasing. After listing, shares of Ola Electric are continuously going down. Also, more than 10 thousand complaints have been made against the company regarding poor servicing. The central government is investigating these. Besides, a notice has also been sent to the company. Recently, there was a heated debate on social media between Bhavish Aggarwal and comedian Kunal Kamra on this issue.
Now on Sunday, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has ordered the company that they will have to give the option to transfer the money to the account of the customer who complains against Ola Cabs. Till now the company gives a coupon to the complainant, which can be used only during the next ride.
Option to transfer bank account will have to be given
CCPA (Central Consumer Protection Authority) said that 2,061 complaints have been received in this regard on the National Consumer Helpline. The regulatory authority has instructed Ola Cabs that they will have to give the consumer the option during refund whether they want bank account transfer or coupon. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs had received information that there is a no questions asked refund policy on the Ola app. But, under this only coupons are being given. This is a clear violation of consumer rights.
The customer will also have the right to collect the bill
CCPA Chief Commissioner Nidhi Khare has ordered that Ola will have to pay the bills of all bookings to the consumer. At present, no such option is being given to the customer by the company. The customer cannot collect his bill even if he wants to. This type of activity comes under unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act. Most of the complaints against Ola Cabs on the National Consumer Helpline till October 9 this year are regarding overcharging and refund issues.
