Is it necessary to complete the course of medicines even in case of fever? No, if you do not need medicine to deal with the fever. So you do not need to complete the course of medicine for fever. In fact, fever can often resolve on its own. Especially if you feel fine and have mild illness. There are some things you can do to treat fever.

Rest and drink fluids. Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, to avoid dehydration. 

Bathe with water: A bath around 98°F (36.7°C) can help lower your body temperature.

 Take over-the-counter medications: If you feel uncomfortable, you can take acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB) to reduce your fever.

Cool: Apply a cold pack under your arm for 10 minutes at a time. You can also try standing in front of a fan. If you notice a fever along with severe headache, stiff neck, shortness of breath, and other unusual signs or symptoms, you should call a doctor. >

101°F (38.3°C) does not require medication. Mild fever can help your body fight infections. You have to rest to reduce your fever. You can try drinking fluids and taking bath with lukewarm water. A fever above 102°F (38.9°C) can be uncomfortable and may require medication. Fever is a common sign of illness, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, fever plays an important role in fighting infection. You can try taking acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB) according to your doctor or label directions.

Fever with other symptoms

If your fever is accompanied by severe headache, stiff neck, shortness of breath or other unusual symptoms. Then you should call your doctor. You should consult a doctor if you have a fever.
