India Canada Conflict Latest News: A former Toronto Police sergeant has made a big claim regarding the attack by Khalistani radicals on the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton. Former Sergeant (Detective) Donald Best, now an investigative journalist, says Canadian police were aware that one of their officers was involved in a violent protest by extremists at the Hindu Sabha temple. Let us tell you that this sergeant was suspended after the video went viral.
Donald Best claimed that this sergeant had already participated in protests organized by Khalistani radicals in October. He said, “What happened at the Hindu Sabha temple is a crime in Canada, you are not allowed to disrupt a religious meeting. I don’t know who threw the first stone, who hit whom, but I do know that many Khalistani separatist protesters physically attacked some Hindus there. We have also seen videos of fighting. A Peel Police officer was also seen among the attackers. The same officer was seen during the protests by Khalistani separatists in October.”
‘Senior officers knew about Khalistani connection’
Best said there was a protest in downtown Toronto in mid-October. I saw the same police officer at that protest. He was holding a placard and a flag and it was written on the placard that the Indian Consulate should be banned in Canada. I have no doubt that senior police officers would not have known that this officer took part in Khalistani separatist protests, yet no action was taken against him.
He was suspended as soon as he was seen in the video
Let us tell you that a Peel Regional Police officer was suspended after he was identified in the video of the protest at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton on Sunday. The suspended officer has been identified as Sergeant Harinder Sohi. Peel police spokesperson Richard Chin said they are aware of a video circulating on social media that shows one of their off-duty officers participating in a protest. Since then he has been suspended.
