Kamala Harris may have lost to Donald Trump in the US presidential election but she will make a comeback because Harris is a warrior. People of Kamala Harris’s native village Thulasendrapuram said this on Wednesday (November 6, 2024).
Since morning, the people of the village were sitting staring in front of the television and closely monitoring the election results. Many people also saw trends on media websites.
Many people also visited Sri Dharma Sastha Perumal Temple to pray for Harris’s victory. However, as the day progressed, it became clear that Donald Trump had defeated his Democratic rival Kamala Harris. After this, the huge crowd gathered in Thulasendrapuram village started dispersing. The village gradually became deserted and silence spread in the village.
Harris’ fans who had come to the village the day before also left. The fans included two Americans and one British citizen. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)’s Tiruvarur district unit representative and Thulasendrapuram village leader J Sudhakar told PTI, “We were expecting her (Harris’s) victory and had planned a bigger celebration than Diwali. Had made it.”
He said, “We had made arrangements to burst crackers, distribute sweets, perform puja in the temple and organize a community feast but success and failure are part of life. It was a tough fight and you have to admire his (Harris’) fighting spirit. She is a warrior and will bounce back.”
Like Sudhakar, other villagers also gave similar reactions. The villagers expressed confidence that Harris will continue her journey as a warrior and someday become the President of America, even if it could not happen this time.
TS Anbasarasu, a retired ONGC employee and resident of the village, said, “We are not able to digest the fact that she (Harris) lost but the matter of relief is that she is only 60 years old and we hope that she will be the next Will win the election. We are confident that she will not be disappointed by this defeat and will continue her work.”
Anbasarasu said, “We definitely hope that she will visit our village in the future after being elected as President. We had hoped that she would visit our village a few years ago and had also sent messages to her relatives. Our village has become a tourist destination because of him.” Trump has been elected the 47th President of America.
