Himachal Pradesh News: Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla inaugurated the state level workshop organized on ‘Role of Panchayati Raj Institutions in combating drug abuse’ at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. This workshop is being organized by the Panchayati Raj Department. 150 Panchayat representatives and 40 master trainers are participating in this workshop.
It is the effort of Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Department that along with the police and administration, Panchayat representatives should also contribute in stopping drug addiction. The Governor congratulated the Panchayati Raj Department for this important step. The Governor also expressed concern over the illegal availability of illegal drugs in de-addiction centres.

For this, the Governor gave the example of district Una, where he got information about this during inspection. The Governor said that the government had also passed a resolution in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly for drug prevention. The Governor wants that such de-addiction centers should be established by the government, which are under the government, and work can be done there to help the people trapped in the trap of drug addiction.
Cooperation of Panchayat representatives necessary to deal with drug addiction
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that Panchayati Raj institutions can play an important role in combating the menace of drug abuse and as public representatives, they can make people aware of the ill effects of drug abuse. The Governor said that there should be no place for drugs in Devbhoomi Himachal Pradesh. Because of this social values ​​are destroyed. Because of this, joint families are breaking apart. He said that the police is doing effective work to stop drug abuse.
State government runs drug de-addiction centers
Along with this, Panchayat representatives should also play an important role in making people aware and the state government should operate drug prevention centres. He said that Panchayats work together with local law and order and health service providers to provide a safe environment to the people.
