Why do Indian students go to Russia for MBBS, what is the difference in education between the two countries?


MBBS In Russia: Every year lakhs of youth in the country prepare for NEET exam with the dream of becoming doctors. In this, only about one lakh youth are able to get admission on MBBS seats in the medical institutions of the country. The remaining 10-12 lakh youth who are successful in NEET have to look for other options for MBBS. For example, if we talk about admission in private colleges of the country, then MBBS fees is around Rs 1.2 crore.

Fees have increased four times in the last 15 years. In such a situation, Indian youth think of doing MBBS from abroad, because MBBS fees are cheaper abroad. Besides, there is also a chance to practice abroad. In such a situation, most of the Indian students turn to Russia. Let us know why Indian students go to Russia to do MBBS.

How is admission done in Russia?

Indian students have to pass NEET UG exam to get admission in MBBS in medical colleges of Russia. At the same time, there should be at least 50 percent marks in 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. Students can apply online for admission in medical colleges of Russia.

How much are the fees in Russia?

Barring government medical colleges in India, MBBS study is very expensive. According to reports, the course is completed in private medical colleges for Rs 60 to 70 lakh. At the same time, in Russia, MBBS study is completed at a lower cost than this. The course there lasts for six years, which also includes a mandatory internship of one year. MBBS is completed in Russia for Rs 15 to 30 lakh.

Difference between education in India and Russia

As mentioned earlier, the fees of private colleges in India are very high, whereas in Russia it is quite low. Whereas, MBBS course in India is usually of 5.5 years, which does not include internship. Whereas in Russia it is of six years, in which one year internship is mandatory. Additionally, Russian medical degrees are recognized globally, giving Indian students the opportunity to work abroad.
