Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen: Famous Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen recently shared a picture of an extremist group from Chittagong on social media and claimed that these people are plotting to target ISKCON in Bangladesh. According to Nasreen, a group called Hifazat-e-Islam has called for inciting violence by demanding a ban on ISKCON.
In her post, Nasreen raised the question whether ISKCON is any kind of terrorist organization as she has never seen anyone chanting “Hare Krishna” causing harm. At the same time, radical Islamic groups are carrying out violent incidents with sloganeering. Nasreen further said that this fundamentalist group is targeting ISKCON followers in Bangladesh whereas ISKCON is a peaceful religious organization.
Increasing atrocities on Hindu community
Taslima Nasreen also alleged that atrocities on the Hindu community are continuously increasing in Bangladesh. He said, what is the real reason behind the joint atrocities on Hindus by the army and police in Hazari Lane of Chittagong? Is it because a person named Osman Mollah posted something against ISKCON on Facebook and some Hindus protested at Osman Mollah’s shop?
Question on government’s response
Nasreen further asked, was it because the Hindus had hung their saffron flag a little higher than the national flag of Bangladesh? Or because a large number of Hindus took to the streets demanding protection of Hindus? Nasreen alleged that the coalition government of Bangladesh is getting worried due to the increasing opposition of the Hindu community and the demand for their security. In the end, Taslima said that the government is feeling threatened after seeing the number of people coming out on the streets in support of Hindus.
