‘BJP ruled state is increasing pollution by sending diesel buses to Delhi’, Gopal Rai alleged.

Delhi Pollution: Politics regarding pollution is increasing in Delhi. While on one hand BJP is cornering the Aam Aadmi Party government on the issue of pollution, on the other hand Atishi The government is blaming diesel vehicles coming from BJP ruled states in Delhi for pollution.

In Delhi, Environment Minister Gopal Rai accused BJP-ruled neighboring states like Haryana and Uttar Pradesh of increasing the pollution problem by sending BS-IV diesel buses to Delhi despite the ban. Delhi government has banned BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel vehicles under GRAP 3.

During checking of buses at Kashmiri Gate ISBT, Gopal Rai said about the diesel buses coming from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand that these buses are violating the GRAP 3 guidelines issued with the aim of reducing pollution.

‘Neighboring states are weakening our efforts’
He said that the enforcement team of the Transport Department of Delhi Government has issued challans to such buses violating the guidelines. Gopal Rai stressed that the Delhi government has taken extensive steps to curb pollution, but neighboring states, especially BJP-ruled states, are weakening these efforts.

‘BJP is deliberately sending diesel buses’
Gopal Rai said, “The BJP government is deliberately sending diesel buses, which is banned under the current guidelines. This is making Delhi’s air pollution problem worse.” He said that according to a report by the Center for Science and Environment (CSE), 70 percent of Delhi’s air pollution originates from sources outside the city and neighboring states also contribute significantly to this problem.

As part of efforts to tackle pollution, Rai announced that a total of 84 enforcement teams of the transport department and 280 teams of traffic police have been deployed to ensure strict enforcement of the ban. These teams are focusing on eliminating the use of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles in the city, with a fine of Rs 20,000 being imposed for violation.
