Delhi Pollution: The air of the country’s capital Delhi is not improving. The air quality remained ‘very poor’ for the sixth consecutive day on Friday (November 29). At the same time, Friday night was the coldest night of this season in the capital, when the temperature fell to 9.5 degrees Celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the night temperature in Delhi on Friday (November 29) reached one degree below normal, which is the lowest temperature of this season so far. The second coldest night of this season was recorded in the capital on Thursday when the temperature was 10.1 degrees Celsius, whereas on November 21, the temperature was recorded at 10.2 degrees Celsius which was the third coldest night.
AQI was this much on Thursday
According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi’s 24-hour average AQI was recorded at 331 at 4 pm, while it was 325 on Thursday. Of the 37 monitoring stations in the national capital, AQI was recorded at 416 in Bawana and 402 in Mundka on Friday, which falls in the ‘severe’ category.
Air quality was not recorded in ‘severe’ category at any station in the last three days. According to the ‘Sameer’ app, which provides hourly data, the AQI was in the ‘very poor’ category in 26 monitoring stations, while in nine it was recorded in the ‘poor’ category.
How was AQI last week?
Earlier, AQI 419 was recorded in Delhi on November 20. Whereas on 21st November it was 371, on 22nd November it was 393, on 23rd November it was 412 and on 24th November it was 318. According to the ‘Decision Support System’ for air quality management, the share of emissions from vehicles in the pollution in Delhi on Friday was 21.6 percent. Let us tell you that 32 incidents of stubble burning were recorded in Punjab on Friday, while nine cases were reported in Haryana and 215 in Uttar Pradesh.
