Jabalpur IPS officer Harsh Vardhan dies in road accident, was going to join first posting

IPS Harsh Bardhan Death: IPS officer Harsh Vardhan, resident of Madhya Pradesh, died in a road accident. Harsh Vardhan was going to take charge of his first posting in Hassan district of Karnataka, during which this accident happened. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has also expressed grief over his demise.

Police said that Harshvardhan was a 2023 batch IPS officer of Karnataka cadre, who belonged to Jabalpur in MP. He died at the age of just 26. According to the police, the accident occurred on Sunday (December 1) evening. The tire of the police vehicle burst near Kittane in Hassan taluk, following which the driver lost control and the vehicle collided with a roadside house and a tree, he said.

Haasan was going for his first posting
According to the police, Harshvardhan was on his way to Hassan to report for duty as a probationary assistant superintendent of police in Holenarsipur. A senior police officer said that Vardhan suffered serious head injuries and died during treatment in the hospital, while the driver Manjegowda suffered minor injuries.

Completed 4 weeks training
Police said that the IPS officer had recently completed his four-week training at the Karnataka Police Academy in Mysore. He told that his father is a sub-divisional officer.

CM Mohan Yadav expressed grief
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also expressed grief over the demise of the IPS officer. He wrote on his It is sad and unfortunate.”

He further wrote that the departure of a young officer of the Indian Police Service in this manner is definitely a loss for the nation. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. It is a prayer to Baba Mahakal to grant salvation and peace to the departed soul.
