Earlier in June, reports had surfaced that Russia and India had discussed a bilateral agreement to ease visa restrictions for each other. Let us tell you that Indians are eligible for e-Visa to travel to Russia from August 2023. However, it takes about four days for the e-Visa to be issued.

According to the report of The Indian Express, India also made its place among the top five countries in terms of the number of e-Visas issued last year. Russia has given 9,500 e-visas to Indian travelers.

Mostly, Indians go to Russia for business or travel. A record more than 60,000 Indians visited Moscow in 2023, 26 percent more than in 2022. India ranks third among non-CIS countries from where most people travel to Russia. Nearly 1,700 e-visas were issued in the first quarter of 2024 alone.
