Threat in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi, allegation of rape of a woman, Supreme Court still gave bail to the accused

Lawrence Bishnoi: For the past few days, the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been in the headlines. The Supreme Court has recently granted bail to a person from Punjab in a rape case. The man was accused of threatening the woman by using the name of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. As per the Indian Express report, the man presented the alleged WhatsApp chats as well as call records between the woman and a senior Punjab Police officer as part of his bail plea.

The police officer forcibly registered the case

According to the report, the accused claimed that he was in a live-in relationship with the complainant, who later got into a relationship with the police officer. The man alleged that the police officer misused his power and implicated him on charges of rape and threatening the woman. The lawyer of the person who filed the petition in the court alleged that the woman had filed the complaint on the instructions of the officer.

According to the report, the man’s lawyer RK Grewal said, “There is no evidence that my client threatened the woman in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi. He came under the influence of the police officer and fabricated a false story to implicate her.”

Threats have been given earlier also in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi

After the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, Lawrence Bishnoi once again started being discussed in the country. Earlier this month, the Mumbai Police had registered a crime against an unidentified person who allegedly threatened an ambulance operator by the name of Lawrence Bishnoi. According to the report of news agency PTI, the caller had an affair with a girl. He threatened to shoot because he had seen the girl with the ambulance operator.
