Method of worship of Parashuram ji

• Wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean, light or yellow clothes.
• Clean the temple or worship place of the house and install the idol or picture of Lord Parshuram there.
• Start the puja by lighting the lamp. Offer Akshat (rice), flowers and especially yellow or white flowers to the Lord.
• Offer fruits, sweets or jaggery and gram. Chant the mantra “Om Jamadagnaye Vidmahe Mahaviraya Dhimahi Tanno Parshuram Prachodayat” at least 11 or 21 times.
• If possible, recite Vishnu Sahasranama or stotra related to Parashuram ji.
• At the end, perform Aarti and distribute Prasad among everyone.

Parshuram ji’s father was sage Jamdagni and mother was Renuka. To have a child, both of them performed rigorous penance and a special yagya. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Indra blessed him with a bright son. As a result of this boon, he was born on the holy day of Akshaya Tritiya. At the time of birth he was named “Ram”. Parashuram received his primary education from his grandfather Richik and father Jamdagni.
