Home Services Apps Growth: In cities, people are now increasingly using apps for small and big home related services. People are taking help of these apps for services like maid, plumber, mechanic etc. This is the reason why users of instant home service platforms have increased rapidly. Now more than 10 million (1 crore) people are using them every month.

According to a report published in Moneycontrol, the total monthly active users of platforms like Urban Company, Pronto and Snabbit reached about 10.4 million (1.04 crore) in March. These include about 6.5 million (65 lakh) users of Urban Company, 2.7 million (27 lakh) users of Pronto and about 1.2 million (12 lakh) users of Snabbit.

Increasing grip of new platforms

• Morgan Stanley’s report shows that Urban Company is still at the forefront in terms of users. However, new platforms are also rapidly making their mark.
• In March figures, Pronto’s app download share was 43 percent. Which is more than 31% of Urban Company and 26% of Snabbit. It is clear from this that Pronto is adding new users rapidly.

New players are making their place

1. According to the report, user activity on both Pronto and Snabbit is continuously increasing. In the last few months, the share of their monthly and daily users has also increased.
2. This clearly shows that the big platforms are still strong. At the same time, new players are also growing rapidly and increasing their share in the market.

There was a sharp increase in bookings also

Not only have the users in this segment increased, but the number of bookings has also increased rapidly. Urban Company had informed in March that its InstaHelp platform had crossed the figure of 10 lakh (1 million) bookings every month within a short time of its launch.

Whereas Pronto is handling around 18,000 bookings daily. Due to which the monthly figure reaches more than 5 lakh orders. Snabbit is also growing rapidly and has indicated that it may soon reach close to 10 lakh (1 million) monthly bookings.

The rapid growth of this sector has increased the confidence of investors. However, the question still remains whether these instant home service platforms will be able to run with good profits in the long run or not.
