Teacher Suffers Cardiac Arrest During CPR Class: A surprising case came to light in America, where a teacher who was explaining CPR and symptoms of heart attack to students himself suddenly became a victim of cardiac arrest. For a moment the students thought it was a part of the class, but soon they realized that the situation had become really serious. Let us tell you what is the matter.
what is the matter
According to the report of The Washington Post, 72-year-old Carl Arps was training Emergency Medical Technician or EMT at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, Wisconsin. During the class, he was explaining to the students about heart attack and the emergency situation related to it. Then suddenly he started feeling dizzy and felt difficulty in breathing. After some time he fell unconscious.
students thought it was a joke
Initially, the students thought they were acting out a patient’s condition, but student Logan Lehrer noticed that Carl Arps’ hands began to bend strangely and his face was changing. He told that he was hearing breathing sound like snoring, at first he thought that maybe this was a way to explain some new symptom, but after about ten seconds he realized that it was a real medical emergency.
Soon after, the students called another instructor, Tracy Blondon. He first tried to normalize Carl Arps, but soon realized that he was not acting. After this, one student immediately called 911, while the other students together took him out of the mock ambulance present in the class and laid him on the floor.

Very scary experience to watch
Logan Lehrer said that reading about cardiac arrest in books is one thing, but seeing it happen in front of his eyes was a very scary experience. He said that at that time every student knew his work and no one made any mistake out of nervousness. Carl Arps later underwent triple bypass surgery and was released from the hospital after seven days. Thanking the students, he said that they did exactly what they were taught in the CPR class. At present, he is recovering rapidly and is preparing to return to work again after a few months.
