Car Insurance Rules: Due to the Iran-America war, the prices of petrol and diesel in the country are skyrocketing. E 20 fuel has been in the news since the war. E20 fuel means adulteration of 20 percent ethanol in petrol. However, it is claimed that using petrol with ethanol has a bad effect on the engine. Know whether you will get insurance claim or not if the engine of your old car gets damaged due to E20 fuel.
How do E20 compatible engines differ?
Actually E 20 means petrol in which 20 percent ethanol has been mixed. The method of burning of ethanol is different from normal petrol. It can cause more damage to engine parts than normal petrol. The vehicles that are built for E20 have very strong fuel pipes and gaskets and their engine systems are also tuned accordingly.

Will car insurance cover this damage?
According to a social media post by Indian insurance company ICIC Lombard, if you put this fuel in a car not made for E20, then insurance companies may consider it as your negligence or misuse. In such a situation, your insurance claim may be rejected, which will increase your problems and you will have to bear the cost of the loss from your own pocket.
If E20 is compatible then there is no impact on insurance.
ICIC Lombard has told that if your car is E20 compatible then there will be no impact on the insurance claim, but if the car is old then check it carefully before adding fuel. Be alert and keep both your car and your pockets safe.
