Prayer to Lord Indra by playing Shehnai

A unique picture was seen in the river Ganga at Rewa Ghat in Varanasi. With the wish of Lord Indradev’s blessings on the earth which seems to be suffering from the scorching heat, Shehnai player Mahendra Prasanna and his team appealed to Lord Indradev for rain by playing Raga Megh in the river Ganga.

Along with religious rituals, Kashi is also a major center for musical practice, there are many traditions here which may be strange to the people in today’s modern era, but the people of Kashi please everyone from God to various forms of nature with their worship and appeal to save the universe from danger. In one of these traditions, today an attempt was made to please Lord Indra by playing Shehnai in the river Ganga. During this, Mahendra Prasanna and his team were also seen in full traditional costumes.

Monsoon has disappointed Kashi in the past years

While on one hand the pre-monsoon this year has completely disappointed Kashi, on the other hand, in the last few years, there have been no good signs for Kashi and the surrounding districts in the monsoon. Due to poor rainfall, it has affected every area and this time all hopes are pinned on the monsoon. Now it remains to be seen whether Lord Indradev is pleased with Prasanna’s Shehnai or not.
