Rickshaw puller’s grandson created history, for the first time someone cracked NEET in a small village of Bihar

NEET UG 2026: It is often said that circumstances are never too big in front of hard work and dedication. A student from a small village in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar has proved this to be true. The family which was once known for running a rickshaw and running a household, today the son of the same family is making the entire village proud with his hard work.

Aditya, a resident of Ratnauli village in Muzaffarpur, has performed brilliantly in NEET UG 2026, securing All India Rank (AIR) 946 and Category Rank 295 and has become the first student from his village to qualify NEET UG.

Rickshaw puller’s grandson created history

Aditya is a resident of Ratnauli village located in Kudhni block of Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. His grandfather Saukhi Sahni used to earn his living by driving a rickshaw. His father Harendra Sahni supports the family by doing a private job. Despite limited resources, Aditya did not give up his studies and on the basis of his hard work achieved success in NEET UG, one of the toughest medical entrance exams in the country.

Where did Aditya start his studies

Aditya did his early education in the village itself, he passed the matriculation examination from Bihar Board and after that he secured 87 percent marks in Intermediate from RDS College. After this, he prepared for NEET UG and by getting AIR 946 and Category Rank 295 in the very first attempt, he brought the name of his village to the national level. Aditya’s success was not limited to his family only. This has also become a matter of pride for the people of his village Ratnauli. For the first time, a student from the village has achieved success in the prestigious medical entrance examination like NEET UG.

Many students of Muzaffarpur also performed brilliantly.

Apart from Aditya, many other students of Muzaffarpur district have also performed brilliantly in NEET UG 2026. Sumit Saraf from Veerpur (Kanti) secured AIR 6013, while Tannu from Dharfari village (Paru) secured 587 marks. Akash Kumar of Champakdi (Saraiya) secured 608 marks, AIR 7637 and EWS rank 821. Whereas Divya Chetan of Bisunpur Patti (Sahebganj) obtained 633 marks, AIR 3135 and EWS rank 284. Arya Prakash from Bairia scored 646 marks, AIR 1701 and category rank 934, while Kaustubh from Meenapur brought glory to the district by clearing the exam with AIR 11014.

Bihar’s strong performance in national merit list also

Not only Muzaffarpur, but also students from entire Bihar performed brilliantly in NEET UG 2026. According to the report, four students from Bihar made it to the top-100 of the national merit list. Ayush Bhalotia from Nawada got AIR 4, Riya Ranjan got AIR 6, Ravi Kant Diwakar got AIR 55 and Aditya Kumar from Begusarai got AIR 73.
