UGC NET June 2026 Answer Key: The wait for the candidates who have appeared for the UGC NET June 2026 exam is now getting longer. Several days have passed since the exam ended, but the National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet released the provisional answer key and response sheet. Every year the answer key is released within a few days of the examination, but this time the worry of the candidates has increased due to the delay.

Why is the UGC NET June 2026 answer key being delayed?

The provisional answer key of UGC NET June 2026 exam has not been released yet. Usually the answer key is released within 7 to 10 days after the end of the examination, but this time it was not released even after more than 15 days had passed. A few days ago, student leaders Deepak Dhankhar and Ankit Singh Phogat from Rohtak, Haryana had claimed that the Sociology subject paper of UGC NET had reached them before the examination and later it was also circulated. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had also raised questions on the central government regarding this matter. However, NTA had rejected the claims of these paper leaks.

Talk of investigation in reports

According to reports, after the paper leak claim, many candidates have complained about spelling mistakes, wrong translation and mistakes in some questions regarding the question paper of Sociology subject. The Education Ministry has asked NTA to investigate this entire matter. It is believed that due to this there is a delay in the release of the provisional answer key. However, no official statement has been issued by NTA in this regard.

The examination was held for 87 subjects

UGC NET June 2026 exam was conducted from June 22 to June 30, 2026 in two shifts for 87 subjects across the country. The first shift was held from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift was held from 3 pm to 6 pm. Due to cancellation of examination at an examination center in Jalandhar, Punjab, the examination was conducted again for the candidates there on July 5, 2026.

What will happen after the release of answer key?

After the release of the provisional answer key, candidates will be able to match their answers and estimate how they performed in the examination. If there is any objection regarding the answer to any question, then the candidates will be able to lodge the objection online within the stipulated time limit by paying a fee of Rs 200 per question. After examination by subject experts, the final answer key will be released and the result will be prepared on the basis of the same.
