Giving information about the incident, a senior party leader said that it was necessary for the top leaders to maintain secrecy to protest in such a high security area, because if information about this had been received earlier, the area could have been cordoned off.

Even Congress MPs were not given information

The MPs were told to reach party president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence at 10, Rajaji Marg to wish him on his birthday. Therefore, many MPs had no idea about the further developments and they reached Kharge’s residence. They were then asked to follow Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi as the top leaders suddenly started moving towards the gate of 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, about 500 meters away from Kharge’s residence.

As soon as information about this incident spread, other party leaders also reached the spot. Only a few top leaders were aware of this move and after the proceedings of both the houses were adjourned, they reached Kharge’s residence. However, most of the MPs had no knowledge about the scheme.

Rahul Gandhi came out of Chhatrasal Stadium

The police took him and many other leaders to Chhatrasal Stadium. Now many leaders including Rahul Gandhi have been left out.

Priyanka Gandhi said, ‘The brutality done to the students yesterday was very wrong. These are our children, the future of the country. We will definitely raise the issue of students again in Parliament. When we demand discussion in Parliament on important issues related to the future of children, the government starts discussing the honor of ‘Vande Mataram’. ‘Vande Mataram’ means respect for our motherland, hence we have to secure the future of our children and protect them.
