Want to do MBBS from Russia, know how much are the fees and how much are the living expenses?

MBBS in Russia: Russia has long been one of the most preferred countries among Indian students who dream of studying medicine abroad. The biggest reason for this is its low cost, globally recognized medical university and modern infrastructure. While the cost of studying MBBS in private medical colleges in India ranges from Rs 60 lakh to Rs 1 crore or more, in Russia the same course can be completed at a much lower cost depending on the university and city.

However, many times students choose the university only on the basis of low fees, which is not considered right. Students should also ensure that the university concerned meets the NMC rules and standards related to foreign medical graduate licensing. In such a situation, let us tell you today that if you also want to do MBBS from Russia, then how much are its fees and how much does it cost to stay and eat there.

What is the total fees for MBBS?

MBBS fees in Russia vary from university to university. Many government medical universities offer the opportunity to study at low fees, the annual tuition fee in most of the institutes is between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 6.5 lakh. The total expenditure including tuition and hostel fees for the entire 6-year course can reach around Rs 18 to 45 lakh. In some big institutes this expense may be even higher.

Medical fees of top universities

Many medical universities of Russia are popular among Indian students. These include Astrakhan State Medical University, Bashkir State Medical University, Belgorod State University, Chuvash State University, Dagestan State Medical University and Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. Tuition fees in these universities starts from around Rs 2.5 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.6 lakh. Whereas hostel fees usually remain between 14 thousand to 90 thousand per year.

How much does it cost to stay and eat?

Apart from tuition fees, students also have to take care of living and daily expenses. Students living in small and middle class cities of Russia have less monthly expenses. For a student, a monthly expenditure of around Rs 11,000 to 17,000 is considered appropriate for a comfortable lifestyle. This includes food, local transport, mobile, internet, stationery, daily essentials and other minor expenses.

Which cities are affordable to study in Russia?

The total cost of studying in Russia also depends on which city the student is studying in. The cost of living, food and transportation is higher in big cities like Moscow. Whereas Tver, Ivanovo, Grozny, Kaliningrad and other cities are considered less cheap. In such cities, there is less expenditure on hostel, food and daily needs, due to which substantial savings are achieved in 6 years.

Expenses can also be reduced through loans and scholarships

Many nationalized banks and financial institutions of India provide education loans for studying MBBS in Russia. For this, NEET, UG score, admission in a recognized university and necessary documents are necessary. In many cases, tuition fees, hostel insurance and air travel expenses are also included in the scope of the loan. Apart from this, the Russian government also provides scholarships for a limited number of international students. Under these scholarships, the full cost of tuition fees is covered, although accommodation, food and travel expenses are to be borne by the students themselves.
